The NBHMI is a project of technological infrastructure, which digitally organizes important archives of the country dated from 1895, while at the same time, comprises a database, necessary for the exploitation of the water resources of the country, the planning of important technical works, the estimation and mitigation of natural hazards and the protection and management of the aquatic environment in general. The main body of the project focused on the collection, evaluation, storage, and processing of hydrometeorological, hydrometric and hydrogeological data of the participating services. Special effort was made to disseminate the project to its future users as well as train them in order to use the software tools effectively. Additionally, the future evolution of the findings and tools of the project were investigated resulting in the NDBHMI evolution study report.
