Together with the digitization of Army Geographical Agency
tablets and the generation of digital terrains, a
specialized application was developed in the NDBHMI GIS platform, in
order to accommodate the access to data from the Database and on the
other hand to automate the procedures of calculating several parameters
and geographical data. Thus the application user can connect to the Database
of NDBHMI and recall measuring stations, using several criteria that
limit their selection and subsequently show them on the map together
with the water stream network data. In addition the NDBHMI GIS platform
provides the user with the following operations:
- Delineation of hydrological watersheds
- Delineation of water network
- Estimation of watershed characteristics (elevation, physiographic and geometric)
- Calculation of statistical quantities of the hydrographic network
- Delineation of length sections for branches of the water network
- Areal integration of point measurements
- Standardized printouts of thematic maps
